This was the Beck Diet Solution Facebook reminder for today:

"Remember, cravings are like itches. The more you pay attention to them, the worse they get but the moment you get really distracted is the moment the craving starts to go away. You NEVER need to eat to make a craving go away. Turning your attention completely to something else is just as effective."


I have found this to be incredibly true. After I've eaten my allotted dinner I am almost ALWAYS still hungry. I find that if I get up and leave the kitchen for 10-20 minutes, the craving for more food goes away. Usually I get on Sparkpeople, and log my dinner, check out a few blogs, etc. and I'm OK.

Then I go back to the kitchen and help TC finish cleaning up. It's a simple strategy, but it's really effective.

And we ALL know that diet is 80% of the equasion....
