Sprains, Heartbreak and WooHoo!!!

I have not been on the last couple of days for a couple of reasons. First, I can't get a computer at home. Right now I am using the old laptop that is about dead. The screen is a psychodelic swirl of colors and I can barely see what I am typing. So please forgive any mistakes. My youngest has taken the good computer and I feel so bad for her right now that I haven't kicked her off. Second is because I have spent the last couple of days at doctor's appointments and playing nurse/maid to my youngest.
Thursday afternoon I received a call from the school nurse that my twelve year old daughter, Rissa, had fallen during gym and hurt her ankle. This call came at 3:45, just before school let out, but she couldn't walk to ride the bus home. I left work an hour early to pick her up. The poor thing was in so much pain when I arrived and her ankle looked pretty big under the wrap the nurse had put on it. Her older brother had been called in to sit with her while she waited on me. We went to the local clinic and the physician assistanct that saw her thought it was just a sprain but wanted x-rays. Of course their moble x-ray service does not take our insurance so we had to wait until the next day. Friday I took her to an orthopedic surgeon that see's my husband's football players for these types of injuries. Thankfully nothing was broken.
This injury happend just before her cheerleading clinic and tryouts which starts on Monday. She has been so excited about trying out for cheerleading and has been working so hard. Unfortunately, the doctor said she will not pass the needed physical right now and she is not cleared to do any sports until we go back next Friday. So, there will be no cheerleading next year. She is heartbroken. I have tried to cheer her up, but she cries everytime she thinks about it. It is breaking my heart to see it. I really wanted her to have the oportunity.
The last few days hasn't been all bad. I finished week 5 of the C25K this morning. It included running for 20 minutes without walking! I was a little afraid at first, but I did it! WooHoo!!! I was so proud of myself. Although I did knock the magnet key out of the treadmill about 14 minutes into the run and stopped for about 2 seconds. I wasn't worried about stopping fora couple of seconds. I got it started and cranked it back up without missing much. I was frustrated that I lost my mileage and calorie burn info. Oh well, I felt great about the workout and was so happy that I did it.
