Struggles and Successes

Today I did week 6 day 1 of the C25K. I struggled with this workout. After running for 20 minutes without walking on Saturday, this workout went back to alternating running and walking. I thought it would be easy, but it wasn't. Part of my problem is that I am stuffy and cannot breath as well. My throat is also really sore. I am hoping it is just allergies but I am afraid it is the beginning of a cold. Despite the struggle, I completed the workout without walking more than was scheduled. It felt good to be able to push through and finish strong. My foot wasn't hurting much either, so the insoles and stretching is really working!
Today my daughter started crying as soon as she woke up. Her ankle is still a bit sore but the hard splint helps a lot. She is more broken hearted than anything. Today is the first day of the cheer clinic and Saturday is tryouts. She is currently under doctor's orders to not participate in any sports and was told she could not do cheerleading this week. It is so frustrating that it means she cannot be on the squad next year because of a moment of clumsiness. It is going to be a long week for my baby girl.
I have had some successes. I gained four pounds in the week after I had started back on SparkPeople. It was so frustrating and seemed like I was not going to lose anything. Last week I tracked my food, saw my problems and started adjusting my diet. Today I weighed in and found that I had lost the four pounds and a few ounces! I am happy to finally see some progress and it is just the boost I needed to start a new week.
