Integrated Prom

My husband & I were watching the news last night & saw a report about a high school in Georgia that held their FIRST "INTEGRATED" Prom! We were TOTALLY FLABBERGASTED by this. How, in the year 2013, is THIS STILL AN ISSUE?????? This is MADNESS!!!!!
We also heard about people PROTESTING this! Are they INSANE???
I have NEVER gone to a SEGREGATED school! Good Grief, I thought that ended back in the '60's (& it should have ended WAY before that)!
This is a DISGRACE that a segregated dance should STILL be happening in 2013 & I say "KUDOS" to the kids who tried to STOP IT!

    Oh thank goodness it was'nt in Mississippi..we get so much bad press when it comes to racial issues....our high school prom was very integrated and we had a great time!!!! emoticon TOGETHER!!!

    I read about this and was also astonished! It's mind boggling isn't it? Shame on those towns people who waited so long!! Hope the kids had a blast!!!
