I was talking with one of my many sisters the other day. She mentioned she was thinking about buying protein powder instead of the drinks. For the past several years I have had a protein bar at breakfast and a special K protein drink at lunch. I hadn't ever considered trying the powder.
The one thing I do know is that protein helps me feel fuller longer.
My mom gave me some packets of protein powder and I didn't think I would use them but I decided to give them a try.
I threw a container of greek yogurt in the freezer and this morning I put it in a blender with the protein powder and some skim milk. Yum!!! It was like having an ice cream shake for breakfast. It's now about 5 hours later and I'm still pretty full.
I think I'm going to continue to experiment for a while and see how it pans out over a full day.
I'm still doing pretty well on dessert. My husbands birthday was yesterday and we had triple chocolate cake. I had a tiny sliver. I'm totally okay with that. Other than that still no cookies or candy bars!
