5lb regain red alert!

I don't take the number on the scale very seriously. I know it fluctuates based on a variety of factors and is not an accurate representation of how much excess body fat I have or how overweight I am at any given time. As long as the general trend of the numbers is downward I accept fluctuations within a 5 or so lb range. That being said, on May 12 I weighed in at 159. Woohoo! Best number in many years! On May 19 I weighed in at 161. Hrm. Okay. No reason to take that seriously. It's definitely not a loss but that's not necessarily a gain, either. On May 26 I hit 164!?! 5lb upwards fluctuation over 2 weeks??? That's bordering on regain!
So now I have to do something I'm not very good at. Something that can be kind of painful at times. I have to be honest with myself. Looking back over the last couple of weeks I have slipped on some of my good habits. Spring... May in particular... is full of birthdays and activities so I haven't been working out as much and I've been eating more empty calories. In addition to getting back into some bad habits (sleeping during the day, chips, cake) I haven't been using the tools. I haven't been reliably recording all my meals and snacks. I haven't been doing a lot of the things that have helped me with all this progress.
And what kind of results am I getting? I'm gassy. My jeans that were so comfortable 2 weeks ago are a little snugger. 5lbs up on the scale. I'm falling asleep during the day everyday. I've had a headache that I can't kick for several days now. The other results are so much more pleasing!
I've known that this will be a lifelong battle for me. This month I've realized how easy it is for me to get back into doing nothing. Fortunately I've caught this issue before it becomes a trend. This time. Now I can start over again and maybe my rate of loss will pick up again! It's been painfully slow for the last few months! The worst part will be re-detoxing from sugar.
But I've done it before and I'll do it again this time! And as many times as I need to after this!
