I was up earlier than expected and decided to walk when it got light outside. So at 5:15 am I went for a nice walk. I didn't play music. I walked my fastest pace yet. 18 minute mile and that was encouraging. I was surprised that I walked that fast without music. There also wasn't much traffic, which can sometimes be a problem when I walk the route I took this morning.

My new shoes are sure improving my muscle pain when I walk. I sometimes still get shin splints, but I wouldn't if I did the exercises that SP recommends!! My hip muscles don't hurt as bad and my thoracic spine and low back are getting strengthened and hurt less and less.

The benefits of walking are numerous and I am definitely seeing many of them. The reduced pain; increased stamina; weight loss!! (

); and a decrease in negative mental illness symptoms. My doctor will be pleased at the end of June when I go to see him as I am steadily losing weight. It is slow, but steady.
Most of the time I sleep pretty well. There are more nights when I wake up sweating lately. One of my doctor's said that my hot flashes and night sweats are heat induced. I didn't have a problem with them all winter. What a relief!

Now as the heat increases they are back. Especially when the temperature in my apartment is above 70 degrees. I don't like to run the air conditioner at night, but I might have to start doing it again. It is in the living room, so not so cool in the bedroom. It does make it more comfortable for sleeping. The thing that heats up my bedroom is the

. I have a west window in my bedroom, so the sun hits in the afternoon and is on that side of my apartment until it goes down. And it goes down later and later as the summer advances. It will be up until 10 pm at the peak of summer. It is also hard to go to

sometimes when it is so light outside. My blinds don't block out all the light. I could put up curtains and might have to this year. I know my friend would make them for me. She used sheets from Walmart to make hers. I would want to be able to close them all the way and not just keep them back like she does. It would also add some color to my bedroom. My air conditioner is too close to my window to put curtains in my living room. (At least in my opinion!) Would it look funny to have curtains in my bedroom and not my living room? They are totally separate rooms. Let me know what you think!!
Well, I better get in the shower. I am chilly from sweating and them turning on the air conditioner. I need to take a nice hot shower and stretch my muscles some more. It will feel good. My feet are a little chilly, too, as I have been sitting at the computer for awhile.
Have a great sunday. Remember...it is what you make it, so make it great!!
