Still chugging along at 4.2 mph, taking it slow and easy... getting there! Still breathing really easy, and even easier after the workout. After the workout feels so good! It is worth the aches while doing it. Knees felt much better today, and so did the muscles. Only had spearmint tea w/ honey today and water, not fizzy drinks & I think that had to do with why the better muscle performance. The longest minutes of consistent jogging on this w5d1 was 7 minutes, and when I had read that when starting this program I wondered how I would ever to it, though I did do it! Just fine, and to be sure, because of the conditioning, truly w5 is easier to me now than w2 was then!
Keep on keeping on! Plugging along :) Body is an amazing thing, and if you don't over do it, you will get there. Speed can come later if you want it too, just keep up the doable pace now, and reach those goals at an easier pace, then add the speed on later. That is the conditioning method I have used with horses and been successful with, only bears to reason that the human body would respond likewise. The training model for endurance horses is LSD- Long Slow Distance, and never add two things at once ie speed and distance. Either add one or the other, never both in a training day.
