I have the best husband. He's always supportive and listens to me and does his best to help me out, as long as it doesn't involve him exercising. (He did recently get a step counter and is tracking his steps at work.) He's willing to try any new food and even sends me recipes sometimes! I made him wheat tortillas on Father's Day from a recipe he sent.
Strength training was driving me crazy. I just can't quite seem to do it and I knew that I really needed to do it. Last week he asked me if I would get up the next morning and do push ups and sit ups with him before he got ready for work. Would I?! Of course, I would! The two of us working together is awesome! I probably would have tried for like 50 of each the next morning if he had asked, but, luckily, he is very much a realist. We started out that next morning with 5 of each. I know that sounds like nothing, but sometimes starting out small is the best way to go. It was hard to get out of bed early for only 5 sit ups and 5 push ups! But I felt great afterward! It was just enough to get me moving for the day and to think, "I might really be able to do this!" We're up to 15 today and tomorrow we'll do 20. Another great motivator, is that whatever we are wearing (or not wearing) to bed is what we are wearing when we exercise and that makes it very enjoyable and fun for both of us!
