After 3 weeks of obsessing over what I am or am not putting into my body, I am really feeling a little success, and people are already commenting on my weightloss. Yesterday, the 4th of July, was the first test of strength! My family and I attended the 4th celebration, which is usually filled with music, games, cheeseburgers, buttered popcorn, icecream, and pie!

Afraid of what this glorious day could do to my weightloss efforts, I told the kids, "Maybe we will skip this year." After much whining, and reconsideration, I changed my mind. The kids and I packed up and went on our way to the land of temptations!

Coming from a large family, we have several birthday and holiday celebrations each year, which I usually induldge myself in whatever the meal of the day may be. If I am going to really change my lifestyle, I am going to need to learn how to to eat at these functions as well! There are little things that I can do. Eat the burger - skip the bun for example. Skip the salad dripping in mayo and eat the cake. It just takes a little planning and willpower.

So, I will be at the Birthday party tomorrow, and I know that If I go in fighting, I know that I will come out a winner!
