Heres to Never Growing Up

Monday, July 15, 2013

So, Its Monday and day one of my own personal 10 day challenge, I haven't forgotten: 10 days, 100% on plan (Slimming World Extra Easy plan), 2 hours of exercise per day.

Well after 5 hours of restless sleep I felt surprisingly good, I got up to sort out paying for my sons hotel room remotely (which of course was not nearly as easy as I thought, but, 2 emails and 3 phone calls later it was at least achieved :)

So I needed breakfast by then, and kept it on plan with fresh fruit, yogurt, boiled egg and ham, I used one of my healthy extras for a skimmed milk latte - which was totally worth it. Not at all deprived so far.

Then it was time for some work, a meeting not far from my hotel, so then back and a couple of calls and emails and I felt ok to take an hour out to do phase one of the exercise - I went to the gym and walked on the treadmill for 15 mins to warm up, ran for 30 mins to do 5k then walked for 15 mins to cool down, all good. Just for comparison when I started I struggled to run for 60 seconds, so I am happy with that....

I had a sad call that a friends elderly father has passed away, which was not good.

I followed my exercise with water and an apple and worked through till lunchtime. I went to the outside area for lunch, very pretty in the sunshine:

I chose the Nicoise salad and a glass of water, I pretty much spent the next 3 hours on calls till I felt like my ears might bleed, so going back to the gym was a relief.

I did 30 minutes on the cross trainer, and 30 minutes swimming (which was lovely and I really felt it in my arms), I treated myself to 2 small chocs out of my syns for the day, and a peppermint tea.

Then a shower, a few more emails and updating some work from my calls, and it was 7pm before I knew it and time for some dinner! I felt a little sad my hubby was not here to sit in the warm evening air and eat with me, and I miss my dogs when I am away (they make 1 hour exercise each and every day fun sharing our walk up and down the Chiltern Hills....bless).

I did stay on plan though, I had tagliatelle, seasonal veg (which was asparagus, aubergine, courgettes and green beans, all very yummy), a glass of water and my last syns on a glass of red - good day all round then.

12804 steps, plus my swimming, so now just time for a little reading, maybe some TV and a good nights sleep as a busy day at the office in the Netherlands tomorrow.

Good night people x

Good luck today, I used to find that when I exercised it made me 'treat' myself with extra food, that's why I am following an actual plan, as I personally cannot be totally trusted to make good decisions where food is concerned ;0) - Stay mindful and I hope you have a fab day.
