One Thing Leads to Another, Then Another

Sunday, August 11, 2013

It is always something.....

On August 1, this year I had someone over to install my new ceiling fan. Well, we had to move my bed over to the right a little. My bed is metal and quite heavy. I take the right side of the foot of the bed and the installer gets on the left. We lift and I 'PLOPPED' my side down very quickly. It is very heavy.

After the fan was installed, we moved the bed back. the plastic piece under the bed post was broken on the side that I had plopped down. I realized that I needed to get some sliders or bedpost coasters so that my metal bed would not tear up my carpet.

Got the sliders at Lowes, but was unable to lift up my bed to attach them under the posts. So, I decided that I would go to the car to get my Car Jack, to jack up my bed to be able to put the sliders in.

But first I had to move my sewing machine, 5 boxes of my art supplies and 2 very large boxes of photographs.

My trunk was messy, so I cleaned it out and realized I need to take things for recycle and to give away, to 5 different places. I put all of that in the back seat. But now the trunk is clean.

O.K., bad news... the car jack is underneath the tire. Darn... I knew I couldn't get that heavy tire out of there. So, when I talked with my StepFather, he said his Jack was still loose in his trunk from a flat he had a few weeks back. So I went to get his Jack.

Took me all day to get all of this done, so there I was at 9 O'clock at night jacking up my bed. Had to rest for 30minutes then do another side. Luckily my StepFather called after doing my first side to check on me. This made me take a 30 minute much needed break.

Got the sliders done and the bed lowered. Now just have to put everything back, take a shower and hit the sack.

Well, that did not happen.......

As I was putting back the boxes of photos back, I noted that I had bought some photo albums that I had meant to fill with some of the pictures I had. So I filled 1 1/2 photo albums until 1:30am. Finally moved everything off and went to bed.

When I was putting back the albums, I noticed that my phone cord in the bedroom by the door was still in the way and I could easily trip on it. I made a note in my cell phone to get a long phone cord and a connector so I could staple the cord along the wall and over the closet door.

Took care of that the next day.

Then when I went to get some papers out of my wood filing cabinet, I noticed that bottom drawer was broken. (this is a double wide piece of furniture type of filing cabinet.) So, I got a box and emptied out the drawer and now am waiting on my oldest brother to help me fix this.

My list does go on from here, but I am running out of space and time. At least I am getting things done :o)

I can appreciate how much you got done, and admire your planning ability. I am a little too bipolar to make too many plans, even for tomorrow, but I have gotten more done this week than any in recent memory. Keep your eye on the prize - you can do anything when you believe...

And that's the way life goes. One thing always leads to another. Aren't you glad you have the time (or take the time) to get things done? LOL

It always starts with just one thing. One time I replaced a broken lamp and ended up totally redecorating. One lamp led to another led to new endtables led to.....

emoticon You really accomplished a lot! You are so right, one thing does always lead to another! I have cleaned out so many areas in my house, but then I always find dust somewhere or something else that needs to be done. Hang in there! I hope you have a great week ahead! I think you already got your workout in for the week! (Ha! Ha!) emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
