The lack of motivation to workout really had me down this summer – I think a lot of the problem was hormonal (perimenopause). What I keep saying , however, is that I’m so grateful to SparkPeople for helping me change the way I approach food. I have done really well with keeping to plan with my eating. Keeping highly-processed, packaged foods out of the pantry has been an enormous help.
Last week, I was on vacation for my birthday so I had 9 consecutive days of no structure. My first lengthy free time since changing my lifestyle! I was worried what would happen. Well, the lack of motivation to workout plagued me the entire week and I did not track a single piece of food in my SP tracker. *sigh* However, with the exception of a couple of Indulgence Days to celebrate my birthday, I did extremely well with healthy eating! I just had to take a peek at the scale this morning (my usual weigh-in day is Sunday) and I was thrilled to see that I have dropped to 197.4!! I was 198 last week! Of course, I would have been down a little more had I not indulged but, thankfully, sticking to the eating plan the rest of the week saved me yet again. If you’ve read my previous posts, you will notice that I keep saying that. The food is definitely the key! However, I also know the importance of exercise. I really, really, really need to figure out how to change my attitude on working out. That is my biggest challenge now. Perhaps when we finally reach Autumn weather I’ll feel like going out for walks again. So far the only exercise I’m getting is my break time walks during the work week, basic chores and grocery shopping. *rolling eyes*
