Another Reason to Go Organic
Sunday, September 08, 2013
When it comes to buying organic, I stick to apples and berries. Thick-skinned produce, like bananas, don't seem to pose as much of a hazard. The pesticides are up against a big barrier, and let's be honest: organic isn't always an option due to price.
I just read an article about arsenic now being in rice, which you can read here:

p?health_day=679979 The FDA said the findings don't suggest we should be alarmed, but common sense should tell us to stay away.
Arsenic is a poison used to kill rats. The article indicates that scant traces of it can be found in multiple food sources, but for me it's another reason to go organic. Luckily I have a local grocery store (Wegmans) that has a whole food section, and I only shop for myself and my pets.
That Dooney and Bourke handbag I've had my eye on can wait, I guess. Sigh...
