Week 2-Aspire & Inspire "Forget-Me-Nots" --Nicest Thing Someone Has Done For Me
Monday, September 16, 2013
The nicest thing anyone has done for me was last spring when the students who I was a foster grandma to, presented me with a book they had made, just for me. On each page was a set of footprints. Each of the students had their own page, colored in footprints, drew pictures and wrote things on each of their pages ( I had over 125 students, so the book was pretty thick.) I received it on Awards Day, in front of the whole school. When I got it, there were tears coming down my cheeks. I cried when I was telling them Thank You. That was a very, very special day, and one I will never forget. It felt like no other feeling I had ever felt before. It touched me in a way I didn't think I would ever feel. I am trying to do things for others, help out when I can, and of course, I have gone back to be "foster grandma" for another year. I am hoping I can again make a difference in some of the kids' lives. What they give me is probably more than I could ever give them.
