Bootcamp kicked my BUTT

And I was right...the bootcamp was painful but I'm still going. The first night in the first 10-15 minutes of the camp we did 2 straight minutes of running (which wasn't horrible and I didn't have any troubles with) and 88 squats! Yep 88 squats in the first 10 minutes of an hour long work out with many more squats, lunges and other exercises of torture yet to go. At that point I knew it was going to be bad. Actually it wasn't bad I enjoyed the exercises and the instructors were kind, helpful and encouraging. However its needless to say I was sore. So sore that I couldn't walk properly for days, stairs were the worst and getting on the toilet was not a fun task either. You know its bad when you need to hold onto the walls in order to sit on the toilet. HAHA! It was so bad on the second day that I knew I couldn't go to class that night. No I wasn't trying to whimp out but I knew that if I did go I would definitely hurt myself. So once I was able to move normally again (which was 3 days later) I made a point of doing squats and other exercises daily to prepare me for the next week. After Monday night's bootcamp I wasn't really sore at all which was surprising. I'm actually looking forward to tonight's exercises although I heard the word Burpees as I was leaving the last class.....I just shuddered and kept walking.
Its a six week program that will probably continue for another six weeks. If I survive tonight and the next 4 weeks I may continue. The time is perfect and its close to home and I get to be with a great group of ladies, what more could I ask for in an exercise class. Now if I could see some major results like shed pounds I'd be more encouraged. Although I've made some changes to my diet and hopefully I'll be able to loose small amounts a week.
Since my husband passed away I'm the only one my kids have left I need to look after myself and my health. I know he's with me cheering me on. :)
