Ear Pain

Tuesday, October 22, 2013

Ear pain has been coming and going lately. It's taking everything I have to stick it out at work, and it doesn't help they have the heat on full blast. Heat has always made me very, very sick. If I can feel my hands it's not cold enough!

I'm deeply disappointed with Subway lately. I used to be able to get a 12-inch roasted chicken or veggie burger sub for $5, and now they've jacked the prices up to $6.25. That adds up a lot over time, and I've been relying on them for affordable, healthy and tasty food. I avoid cooking for many reasons, one of them being my kitchen is only a few inches bigger than my bedroom closet. I've never responded well to being sick, either, so I've been lying down as much as possible. I felt better over the weekend, but I'm at work now and have awful ear pain.

I hope the ear pain has passed by now. So sorry to hear you were going through this. I was also fighting a cold for two weeks, with some awful vertigo every time I lay my head on my bed. It was awful. The walls were spinning for a few seconds. LOL.

Well, for me the cold has passed with just a few sniffles left over.

why not buy some tubberware and pack a crispy salad for lunch. If you want cooked chicken without the effort, it can be bought in the supermarket, as can fresh prawns, salmon, ham, eggs, cheese etc all make a great salad and are quick to put together.

Other easy snacks are pasta with pesto or tomato sauce/salsa which again are fast to make.

There's pre-packed low-calorie meals to microwave at work. (not so healthy!!)

I'd see my doctor if I had earache like yours. Maybe you've already had it checked out, in which case I'd go back to tell him it's still painful.

The upper respiratory infection that just won't go away! Poor you. It's awful to feel so lousy. Sorry about your issues with Subway. I know it's hard to cook if you're not used to it. But the size of your kitchen is just an excuse. Think of all the money you could save! And that's just for starters. It really is cheaper and healthier. You'll do it when you're ready...and I don't mean to nag...I just want you to take good care of yourself! I think of cooking for myself as a way to show myself that I love me and that I am worth the extra work. It's easier to grab fast food and sometimes you just have to go that route...but I got fat eating fast food...when I didn't take the time to shop and read ingredients and prepare vegetables and soups and things for myself. Looking back now I think I was telling myself that my job I was rushing too was more important than my health. I lived on stress, nicotine, caffeine and fast food and really pushed myself too hard for a job I didn't really love. And still it was ME that suffered. If you had someone special coming to share a meal you wouldln't feed them a "cheap" Subway sandwich. You are special. Feed yourself good healthy food. You do so deserve it!

Hope you start to feel better. We have so many allergens floating in the air here in the Midwest, people complain about ear aches, sinus headaches - you name it - all the time. The "cures" range anywhere from antibiotics to aspirin or Tylenol. The first hard frost usually results in a cure!!
