And the gender is....

Tuesday, October 22, 2013

Over 11 weeks ago I found out I was pregnant. This news both thrilled me and upset me. It may not have been planned but I couldn't be happier to finally have one of the children I always thought I'd have. From the first home pregnancy (yes, I took a few) I started to wonder if it was going to be a boy or a girl.

Knowing for awhile I've wanted kids I had names picked out. For a girl- Alyssa Rose. I hadn't really had a boys name picked out until after I told my parents I was pregnant and that same night my mom sent me a text saying Jeremy Michael. I loved it! I loved the fact that my mom wanted my son to contain part of my uncle's name, especially since he had just passed away shortly before I found out I was pregnant. But it still left me with wondering, boy or girl?

I always thought I'd wait until my baby was born to find out the gender but trying to shop for neutral clothes and decor is hard! The only color out there is really yellow. I didn't want all of the babies clothes to be yellow. I had gone through some sections of clothes at a store and had found 2 onesies that weren't really specific to the gender and picked them up. But that's only two for 0-3 months range. I can't only have two!

So after nearly 8 weeks we got to see our precious baby on the ultrasound for the second time, and the doctor said..

So in 19ish weeks we will get to welcome our baby girl, Alyssa Rose!
