How did the year pass so quickly?

Saturday, November 02, 2013

Okay, here we are in November already! and... while I REMEMBER each of the months passing by, there is a part of me that just thinks 3 or 4 months have passed this year. Strange....

But this just goes to show how important each day is. We put off so many things for tomorrow, yet all those tomorrows add up, and we find ourselves another year down the road, and still out of shape, feeling unenergetic, hopeless and overwhelmed.

It starts with TODAY. It starts with doing something, some little thing that gets you off the couch and moving. You make healthy food choices. The small effort that you put out will hurt, at first, but when you're done, you'll feel better. Even more, you'll be so proud of yourself.

so you do it again tomorrow. And the next day. Maybe you miss a day, but you remember how good it feels just BEING that person who tries, and you try again.

That day becomes like a pearl in the necklace of your life, a beginning for the new person you're becoming. After a while, the days add up, and you are more the person you want to be, than the person you wish was... different.

I don't have many days behind me of being that person, at least not yet; but this next year is going to pass anyway, and I'd rather look back on it with pleasure and satisfaction, than with resignation and disappointment.

What about you?

I know what you mean and it only seems to get faster.

I am trying to be more "in the moment' instead of passing it away meaninglessly. I have to work every day on getting or staying on track. I slip up every day or two it seems but I wont stop trying.

This year has gone by so fast! Sometimes I forget to enjoy each day because I am so busy planning for the next one. Planning is good but not too much planning, need more doing.

"Time Marches On" was the name of an old newsreel shown at theaters when I was a kid. Your blog brought back some memories. emoticon Earl
