My problem area....

Wednesday, May 09, 2007

is that I can't seem to drop the weight...
perhaps it's because it's only a few pounds,
and that I'm very close to my ideal weight
but even here on SPARK they have pushed me
up to eating 1200 calories a day
because otherwise I'd go into starvation mode...

so.. I've been working very hard
and keeping as close to my calories as I can
(I'm often so much under)
and do my cardio and my strength training
and it still seems to be taking forever..

I agree that there are a lot of other ways to track your progress. Inches, a better time on a running distance, and just plain feeling better in certain ways are all signs that you're doing something great for yourself.

Congratulations on your Memorial Day 10K. YAY!

Try tracking inches instead of weight for a while. You may be gaining muscle because of the strength training, so your weight may not be a good indication of the progress you are making. When I reach that kind of plateau, I usually stay there for a while and then a lot of weight drops off very quickly. Don't get discouraged - you are becomming healthier!
