I always ask the dentist for something to keep me calm before I go, so they prescribe a tiny bit of anti-anxiety medication. Makes all the difference!! You'll probably need someone to drive you, but if they're putting you "out" you'll need that anyway.
I've had to have wisdom teeth pulled and still need one(or two depending) pulled! Well, one had to be surgically removed and broken apart and I didn't get to be put out for it!
What I do when I go to the dentist for something I am going to be awake for, I ask if I can bring an MP3 player to listen to loud music while they work and they can tap me on the shoulder if they need to ask a question.
But, being put to sleep for that will really help. Just breath in deeply, hold it for a a second or two, then slowly release it. It might help you calm down a little. I used to be so afraid of the dentist that I would cry just from the THOUGHT of having to go. Now I am not so nervous! I hope everything goes well and that you recover quickly! Good luck! 2545 days ago
