Why I changed my start weight

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

This morning, I made the decision to change my start weight on my ticker. This has been something that I've wrestled with for months, now.

Admittedly, I was embarrassed about how high the number was because that is the most that I have weighed in my life. Granted, 9 pounds was another person. But, still.

So, I didn't change my start weight from a couple years ago. Then, I noticed that I kept adding the pounds that I've lost to the number on my ticker. I decided just to own it.

It is what it is. I've lost weight and have more progress still to make.

My goal is to reach a healthy weight by my birthday, next year.

I'm thankful for my supportive Sparkfriends. I keep showing up every day because you all inspire me to do my best. Thank you.

Sorry I am just seeing this! I never post my weight either. I have always weighed more than anyone I know and it's embarrassing! The Dr. is always amazed at my number, he says you truly have alot of muscle. Of course now it is fat on top of muscle but still! I posted my weight on one of my teams because we are having a challenge. My face was red when I posted it but you know what. I am proud of the fact I have lost almost 70 pounds. It could have been alot higher number!

Good for you for being true to yourself and posting the true number. It takes courage to do that and change of bodies for the better! You are making progress!! We can and will tackle this demon!

I admire your honesty. I always thought SP was a non judgemental zone. I'm here to help, not make fun of a number. This is a great step towards "owning it" as you said. AND you are making progress!

    WAY TO GO!

I took my tracker completely off my page. We often let numbers rule us that's why I decided to go back no scale/no measurements. Don't worry about the numbers hun. Just continue to work and before you know it you'll be t your goal. emoticon

Emme you poor thing! No need to explain or defend we are all on the same train. Whether we have 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 pounds to lose they are all insurmountable and disturbing to each and everyone of us! The only person you need to be honest with about this is yourself and it looks like you are doing that! You could be any weight and it wouldn't matter to me, you inspire and encourage me daily!! However.......if you were using this to build guilt in yourself, causing a lack of appetite so you couldn't eat, so you could flash ahead on our challenge, now then I have a problem with that! That would be unfair tactics!!! LOL But I would have to give you points for creative devious thinking!

Don't worry about not owning up to your weight. I always put the wrong weight on my driver's license for years. I was just too embarrassed too, and then one day, I was like you, decided to own up to it. I did, and last year when I renewed, I put my true weight, well, I know that next time I renew, I'll have a lower weight to put on it. I think that now you've owned up to it, it is going to look really good when it comes off, and you can proudly say.... I did it!! emoticon emoticon
