My life in the last 3 months

Hi, I am not usually the one to write a blog as I am not sure how it looks or if I sound dumb. but here goes!
I lost my job thru a difference of opinion back in mid October (not good). I immediately applied for unemployment and have since been denied. No money coming in. I went down and applied for food assistance (got $189.00 a month), cash assistance (got $200.00 a month) and medical assistance I am still waiting on that! I paid some bills with what money I had left including rent for Nov. and December. I now can not afford rent for January. I am going to apply for public housing to help me for rent. I have asked my sister for a loan and told her it would be short term and that I would pay her back when I got my taxes back. I really hope she helps me!
Jobs have I been looking? I apply for at least five a day! I have had one interview and was told they don't want people like me working for them. I cried all the way home and pigged out once I got there.
I tried to bundle phone, cable and internet and I just got the bill for $399.00 I was on the understanding that I would be paying only $99.00 a month. I
have made a rather hard decision to go just with my cell phone. No cable and no internet unless I can find an inexpensive internet provider.
I have also decided on taking an early retirement (I will be 62 in January) this works out good for me and if I can get into a place where it goes by your income I will be set.
I have found that spark gives me a lot of support and I am greatly appreciated so Thank you spark. By the way I have lost 20 pounds since mid October!!

    I hope you have good news by now and vindicated for wrongful termination of your job. i believe in the power of prayer and that Jesus is our intercessor with God. I have been in some tight situations that even my Lawyer said there was little hope and I just kept on praying and letting my light shine. Every time my Lord Jesus Christ came through for me. And i pray He will for you too. emoticon emoticon

    I'm so sorry to hear all that you are going through but looks like you are going through all the channels to make life better for you. You will be missed on Spark and if you have a chance go to the library now & then to sign in and keep us updated on your progress. Do try to fight the denial from unemployment. At least if you appeal your former employer will have to prove their case against you to the satisfaction of the unemployment insurance office. Take care of yourself and hope to hear an update soon. emoticon emoticon

    I was denied unemployment because the company I worked for called me a thief and that is why my one interview went sour. I did NOT steal anything many people think I was fired because of my being handi capped.

    emoticon See if you can get help fighting that umemployment denial.
    Wishing and prayig for thing to change and hope your sister comes through for you.
    She will if you show her you are trying to help yourself.

    And anyone who said they didn't want people "like you" is not somewhere you want to be. HOW AWFUL! Keep trying.

    Sail back your life style, stop cable immediately. Comcast is the cheapest for cable. Why didn't you get unemployment? Did they tell you? I thought that you could only be denied if you worked for yourself? On the same form as food stamps is a spot where you can apply for assistance for bills, or utilities. It's hard to find that spot, but it's there , maybe listed under something else, you must verify everything. The Gov't give you 200 minutes thru different services, ask you cell hone if they honor that? Or find out how to get it as an extra. Start going to food banks. Some at churches give a lot of junk, but others give tiolet tries & meat. It's hard to get medical assistance unless you have medical problems. In that case they'll tell you or you'll find that they have a medical place where they take supposedly less money than regular doctors. If you have a problems, i'd go to a hospital, & while you are therew tell them you areon assistance, and have no insurance, they're the only ones I found that will actually help you. Everyone else just takes too much monies, and don't care. Call 211, and that is the phone number if you want to know about ANYTHING, THEY CAN HELP. if YOU ARE DISABLE IN SOME WAY THERE IS PEOPLE DISABILITY ASSISTANCE. cALL THEM. i'D TSILL BE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHY YOU AREN'T GETTING UNEMPLOYMENT? hAVE YOU NOT GONE TO THE UNEMPLOYMENT PLACE AND APPLIED? iT'S NOT AT HUMAN SEVICES!     I hope things turn around for you soon.

    Housing that goes according to your income is a good idea.

    People here go to the library to use the internet. Do you have one nearby?

    I hope you can still be able to get on Sparks. (We need to figure out who is going to win Survivor) emoticon

    I the mean time hang in there and I hope your sister will be able to offer you some support.

    Blogging really helped me when I lost my job and health and had to retire at 58. The good news is that I appreciate everything so much more now. I pray that you will find the job you are looking for and just know that "what goes around will come around" . That rude interviewer will be in your shoes one of these days.

    Retirement really helped me get healthy. I highly recommend it. Simplifying also eased stress. I bet you will love having your phone. I hope you have a nearby wifi hot spot so you can still play on your computer.

    Oh my! So many ups & downs! Despite all the downs, I like that you have made a plan to get back on track, as it were.

    I was surprised by your comment "was told they don't want people like me working for them." What part of "like me" did you mean?
