This morning I read something that hit home with me. "That prayer goes against the grain of our
flesh and therefore takes effort, dedication and perserverence." It takes me awhile to pray first thing in the morning. It should be like putting on clean clothes or taking the first sip of tea. I should have God on my brain first thing in the morning and I don't! What type of person does that make me? Am I an ungodly person? Do I have to schedule God in like I do with exercise? Or try each morning to remember to start my day with a prayer?
I remember Him throughout my day like when I am driving in the car or when I am listening to
christian music. I do say a prayer before bed and read at least one chapter of my bible everyday.
Anyway, sitting here reading different blogs always makes me say a prayer for someone who needs it at the time. I guess I just need to keep on trying to thank God every morning that He lets me open my eyes on the world that He created.
Thank you to anyone who reads my whining. I hope everyone has a great and blessed day!-Peggy

Sometimes we just have to develop spiritual disciplines such as starting our day with prayer and Bible study. Once the habit is formed you will find that thinking of the Lord first thing in the morning is much easier.

None of us is perfect; we all struggle with some aspects of our faith walk as we grow in our relationship with the Lord. Keep on working on it!

    God bless!

Christ rose early to pray. He really should be first before anything. I confess that I haven't and that I need to change that. Spiritual food before actual food.

I think it's okay to allow yourself to wake up before launching into prayer ... Psalms refers to "scheduled times of prayer" - so they must have needed some sort of reminder too. I'm pretty visual - so I like to have a picture in my line of sight when I first wake up to jump start the conversation with God for the day ...

Thing is - you're praying! And that's just awesome.

    Merry Christmas!
