DECEMBER 20TH - "WORKOUTS"
Like this topic as I do enjoy my workouts. Love walking so got to be outside this past Spring/Summer for my working out.
Since living in the new condo, have taken to the gym and doing the treadmill. Always loved the treadmill and owned one many years ago. Already talked hubby into getting a treadmill for the house when we finally get home.
Some mornings, wake up and don't feel like exercising so I just say to myself" I want to go for a walk". Get up, throw on my workout clothes, grab my cell phone to listen to my iheart radio stations, go out the door to downstairs, walk 20 steps outside and enter the gym and get onto that treadmill. Once in awhile watch TV but love my music.
Promise myself to just walk for 20 minutes and before I know it, I am speed walking, doing different inclines and already went for 25 to 35 minutes. Get a great workout everytime.
I also love doing different kinds of workouts so have my Dvd's = sweatin to the oldies, walk away the pounds & pilate/yoga for dummies. Have weights so try to get more time with doing them too.(something have to work on since it is very beneficial).
Wish I could just find a good DVD that has weight training on it. I would probably do it more often than trying to read how to do from my magazine tear outs on all kinds of moves.
However, do miss my Wii fitness workouts that I did at home. Do not have a Wii here. Loved all the challenging games and would do at least a 40-60 minute workout each time . I believe they helped me in all kinds of ways for physical exercise and are a lot of fun!
For me workouts have to be fun/enjoyable or I will not do it. I even like the Sweatin to the Oldies DVD's cuz I feel like I am dancing most of the times and that is fun even though they can be hard.
The first time I lost weight, I would do them(Richard Simmons) 3 times a week and then 2 times a week when I lost 40 pounds. Did get alittle bored with them so bought a treadmill and loved it!
Kept the weight off for almost a year, meet my now husband, fell in love and over the years gained all the weight back and an extra 20 pounds.
Unfortunately happiness causes me to gain and I am a very happy person.
Most importantly, I workout for me, myself, & I. I feel great afterward, have more energy, can keep up with the grandgirls( they love to run around), and since I am older - feel it keeps my joints oiled! Sometimes I feel like the tin man and need those squirts of oil to get a movin.... exercise seems to be my oil can!
So good workouts to all..... til tomorrow....
