Looks like I discovered Spark People about 4 years ago AFTER I had gone from a size 14 to a 4 and then back to a more normal sz 8. Bragged about Spark People to nearly everyone I knew!

Four years later I am heavier than I was when I found the site: now 145 yet wearing size 8s and 10s! And am now 53 years old with extremely lowered metabolism and motivation. Guess I get to start over again. ;o)

Right before Christmas I received an email about Spark People's new Activity Tracker. Seemed like a fun tool to get me started again, so I put it on my Wish List. Hubby must have figured it was a good idea, because he gave me one for Christmas.

Spent the last day of 2013 refamiliarizing myself with the site and activating the Tracker. Wore it for a few days just to see how it worked. Surprised that 2 full days of drywalling/sanding/painting and going up and down 2 flights of stairs and multiple trips up and down the painting ladder only clocked 1476 and 2320 steps daily! The 3rd day I cleaned up from the mess and logged 7960. Then I came down with the flu so my tracker numbers look pitiful!

Already started tracking my nutrition again and trying to stay near 1200 calories (which hasn't been too hard with no appetite from being sick). Will see how difficult it really is once my body recuperates.

What I remember is the amount of time it takes to properly track food consumed since I don't use the recommended meal plans. (If there were a way to sync the meal plans/grocery lists with my iphone, I might consider the recommendations, but it also seems that to use the plans there would be a lot of food wasted. Ex. only one day in a week calls for 1.25 cups of watermelon and it's not called for again the next week: what do you do with the rest of the melon, just let it rot? Anyone else find this type of problem with the suggested meal plans?)

Anyway...I never really care about the number on the scale. I care about my mood and energy level. And from those two gages, I need to get back with the program!!!
