How do you Spark?

Tuesday, January 14, 2014

I'm curious about your routine. When do you track food and movement? How many points do you strive for in a day?

I log on first thing in the morning and read articles and try to plan my meals for the day. I track things as they happen for the most part. I try to get at least 100 points a day.

I track food and movement everyday. Sometimes I strive for points, and sometimes not. It depends on how much time I have...

I Spark on & off throughout the day .... from the time I get up until I go to bed. I track Nutrition and Fitness as much as possible. I read articles, blogs, say "hi" to friends. I try to get an average of 75 points per day. if I used Facebook or other social media sites, I could get more but that's just not a focus of mine.

I usually wake up and start sparking right away ... reading articles, posting messages, and doing my daily "spark-chores" ... like working out to at least one if not 2 videos. I finish up most stuff in the evening either before dinner or before bed - depending on how many people I have coming over when. I shoot for about 200 pts / day - but have been pushing that up a bit higher lately. I'm a points-pig - I know - partly because it's just such a ridiculously easy way for me to feel like I'm really good at something - and though they don't really mean anything ... I just get a kick out of getting as many as I can ... plus - working to get points means I'm not snacking. :D

I tend to eat the same things during the work week, so I do a lot of copying and pasting from Monday-Friday for breakfast/lunch/snacks. Dinner I either track that night or the next morning, which of course can get me in to trouble.

I have my FitBit synced to SP, so I don't have to track cardio minutes, but on strength days I add that in. I usually do this in the morning. My job is a little slow right now, so I can spend more time here during the day than previous.

I'm on here all day, popping in and out. I read my friend feed and my BLC team board, update my BLC stats, visit folks' blogs and read some articles.

I note my points, but I don't have a goal I strive for. I at least try to get 25 so I can get my bonus spin. I do want to at least get my log in credit. At one point I had about 180 days of a log in streak, and I want to best that!

This time around I am focusing on personal interaction, not teams. I use another web site for tracking my food. I track my activities/exercise, I read blogs, I read my friends feed, I blog daily. That's enough.

I Spark too much, I think. I'm still looking for the routine that works best for me. Right now I come in through the day to pretty much just track food and fitness as it happens. Often though I end up screwing around more than I should. Sometime around 11p I come and do a little socializing and blogging.

My meal planning is sort of off books ... I do it more for the purpose of economizing right now than improving the family's nutrition. Hopefully, we're coming up on a time when I can afford to upgrade everyone's food choices a little. But then I'm feeding two boys, 18 & 20. My God, they can eat! The new one is putting on some weight, though, so I need to transition him to more freggies and such. I think he's appreciating homestyle, comfort food a little too much. I want to help him, not make him plump.

I aim for at least 50 sparkpoints a day, but often go over.

I menu plan on Sundays and log my food for the week. I track exercise right after it happens. I try to check in through out the day, but I'm not to concerned about points. I just want to chk on my friends and see what's happening!

I set up my menus for the week in advance and any changes I do the day I eat them

movement the same way. I am basically a creature of habit with walking, dancing and my eliptical

I to this throughout the day since I am usually on facebook or dealing with life in between my sparking

goal is as many points as I can get
