There is Hope

I have hope again! I decided that this time I try to lose weight I would do something a little different so I posted before pictures, as well as started tracking my food. I went on my first low calorie diet (1,000 a day) when I was 12 years old; I've gone up and down the scale on many more low calorie diets over the years. BUT now I've decided to try building a life long habit by trying 2,000 calories a day of mindful eating. To my complete and utter amazement, three days of tracking yielded one pound lost. I got on the scale today after a fourth day of tracking and I was down another two pounds. Woo Hoo! I hope this trend continues.
The great thing about the method mentioned above (I believe) will be that the maintenance portion of my plan will look just like the weight loss portion of my plan. Toward the end of my journey, if I'm not getting down as far as I should, I will cut my calorie intake by a little bit more. This way, I will eliminate the rebound effect which has undermined all my efforts in the past.
I am so grateful that I have had immediate success by eating a "normal" amount of food. If I get hungry and have cravings I can tell myself that I am eating what any person should eat. I already feel better than I have for a long time. It is wonderful to have hope of a healthy life again.
