Starting Over

Tuesday, March 25, 2014

Today started out as a day for me to restart my sparkpeople program and kick it into high gear. Turns out it is also going to be my time to start getting back into real life. I've hidden away for a few months, but here I am with a new job ahead of me and soon a healthier me.

This is my second job offer the first one was for a 50 hour work week, in the opposite direction of my gym. I knew even if I had the best intentions I would never make it. This job is closer to the gym and also my favorite portion of the local bike trail (Love walking by the lake). If I keep my walking sticks, sneakers and gym bag in the car at all times I will be all set. Plus this job is at the mall, so at the very least I can get a 10 minute walk in during lunch no matter what the weather is. Its a 40 hour week, rotating weekends off, so I have plenty of time for friends family and fun.

Holy Moly... I made a decision based on what I wanted and what will help me in the direction I want to go. I did not follow what others would think was best, I did not go for the higher paying. I followed my heart. That is so not like the old me. I don't know what is more shocking, that this new me stood up for what I want or that I made my job decision based on available workout times.... Sometimes I guess we really can't see the change in ourselves day to day.

So work clothes are washing, gym bag packed, next step is to plan my meals for tomorrow. The tricky part about working at the mall is how close by the fast food is. But its going to be fine.

    Sounds wonderful!

Have a "food rule" for the mall to keep you okay. If it's fresh, whole foods, then it's legal and you can eat it (like a fresh fruit cup).

If it's not, don't (which will be 99.99% i.e., everything else). If nature made it, eat it. If man made it, don't.
