So far I've lost 11 pounds since January. It doesn't seem like much for three months, but I have found that for me, a steady weight-loss is much better than a drastic weight-loss. I am not stressing over what I eat or how many calories I can have. Just staying within my recommended calories per day, walking my dog and working in the yard have allowed me to steadily drop 1/2 to a pound a week.
I budget my calories for times I know we will be going out to eat and plan what I will order beforehand so I won't be tempted to order something I shouldn't. But, if I feel I cannot resist, I order it and don't feel guilty because I know I have a tool (SparkPeople) for getting me back on track. I've found I usually cannot finish my meal and have leftovers for lunch on another day, anyway.
