April Plan - Just Show Up

Wednesday, April 02, 2014

My Plan this month is to Just Show Up....
This might sound a bit odd to some but I've thought a lot about it the past few days. I show up for work, for friends, for my children - even when I'm exhausted. I'm there to support my spouse, my co-workers, my neighbors (which happen to be my in-laws - emoticon ), I "SHOW UP" for them. But there are few times where I show up for me.
And I don't mean that I'm taking an hour to work out at the gym or go for a walk or something that is so planned and stringent that it stresses me out.
I'm just going to make a conscious effort every day to show up -- just 1 time. That might mean I log on to SP and spin the wheel or I use less dressing on my salad. Maybe I park in the last row and walk the furthest to the building at work. Or I trade my bagel for yogurt at breakfast -- just 1 time.
I have this mantra taped to my mirror in my bedroom. I see it every morning getting ready for the day.
SP friends - every day just show up 1 time, every day. We might get to a point where we show up 2 times or even 3 times in one day.
Happy Spring - my knees are thanking God we are out of the 30 degree temps and rising.
Peace my friends.

You can succeed at this. One step at a time. I find that it helps to put exercise on my schedule first and work everything else around my exercise schedule. Good Luck!

I love this! Have you watched the Elizabeth Gilbert TED talks. It's my most favourite one and that's what she tells us to do. She applies it to creativity, but it's such an amazing mantra for life. emoticon
