Learning not to compare...

I posted this on my fb page (Planking For Peanut M&Ms) today and thought I'd share it on here as well!!
I am guilty of this all the time! Being overweight almost all my life, I was constanty comparing myself to the thin & pretty girls I was surrounded by. Women are bombarded with images of what they "should look like" on a daily basis and they have such a negative impact on so many of us. We have to learn to ignore those magazine images because we all know women don't actually look like that! It's all photoshopped! So be proud of who YOU are and do YOU! Focus on what you want and not what others have. We can all achieve our desires! We need to learn to love ourselves inside and out. This morning while I was at the gym there was a girl on the treadmill running at a pace of 6.4 for quite some time. I was hesistant to get on the treadmill next to her. Then I swallowed my fear and got on doing my intervals of 4.9-6.0. And I was damn proud! This time last year theres no way I would be RUNNING on a treadmill let alone at a pace like that. I was proud of where I came from! And in all honesty she probably didn't even take notice to what I was doing nor cared! haha! Push those fears aside and go for what you want! Don't let others intimidate you! 99% of the time they're not even watching!
