My first blog entry, thanks to Maize Mountaineers!
Mindset ~ I'm blessed with a positive glass-is-half-full personality, but wrapping my head around the possibility that I could actually be a person who is fit and makes healthy choices, is quite a stretch for me. The notion of creating a mindset that I can be one of 'those people' who exercise regularly is something I need to work on.
Support ~ Opening myself up to encouragement from people near and far is a bit new to me. I've got to reach down deep for this one.
Visualization ~ I have an active imagination but it doesn't always go in the direction that will help me with my fitness journey. I can't quite see myself as a life-time exerciser, but that may change over time.
Acceptance ~ Such a pivotal concept! For me, this is all about allowing myself to embrace the real-ness of the journey. Progress, not perfection!
Obstacles ~ Hmm...need to think more about this one. I am my own biggest obstacle and need to find a way to reconfigure that as it is not a good thing.
Time Management ~ Fortunately, this is a strength of mine. My challenge is how to mobilize it to support my goal of more movement and not being so sedentary.
Beyond Comfort ~ For me, it's more about reconceptualizing comfort. My goal is to be comfortable in my own skin, which will mean doing some activities and making some choices that don't seem as comfortable as their less-healthy alternative.
Stress Management ~ Doing pretty well with this at the moment, but need to find sustainable ways of staying level and coping with the little curveballs that life tosses us.
Rewards ~ Where do I start? Not used to rewarding myself for things I should be doing anyway.
