A Goal In Sight

Tuesday, April 15, 2014

Around the time of my 29th birthday, I decided I was going to be 200lbs or less by the time my 30th rolled around. Because that three decade mark is magical, or something. xD

My birthday is at the end of May, and this morning I weighed in at 204.6. I'm feeling pretty confident and excited right now.

But May is a challenging month for me, because there are tons of birthdays among my family (including my own!) which means tons of cake and junk food. My mom always serves giant wedges of cake, and saying no to that is still a little difficult for me - especially because cake is something I don't have often, but absolutely love.

Last May I weighed 291 on 5/2, and 286 on 5/30, despite indulging pretty freely in cake. So I managed a net loss of around 5 lbs for the month, which isn't awful by any means - and I was doing just IF back then, no exercise program besides my job and the walking I did to get to and from wherever I needed to go.

Even so, I'm (probably needlessly) nervous about this May. If my current rate of loss continues (2-5 lbs a week), I'm going to be in the 190's before the month even starts. As long as I continue with my current routines, I *should* be fine, even if I do overindulge a bit.

Plus, I've kinda been really looking forward to all that cake. emoticon
