Today was not the day I had planned.

I had a list on my counter of things to tackle. I got through number 3, and the floor fell out from under me.

I don't know if I mentioned, but I am the snack bar coordinator for our little league. Basically that means I run a takeout restaurant from May - August. I have to staff, supply, and maintain the building during the season. This includes budget, payroll, hiring, firing, scheduling, and purchasing all the items for sale.

This week our freezer decided to crap out.....I have been chasing the repair guy since Monday - and he finally decided that today he would make the trip. He called just as I was about to start making a lasagna for dinner (a novelty that I make something like this during the season.) Back into the fridge the ingredients go - and off to the snack bar I go. What I thought would just take half hour was 3 hours, and left me scrambling to get to my oldest son his baseball gear for his away game, and also get him a snack, then get home for youngest son to make sure he got his homework at least started before his baseball game.

I am happy I got the dogs to the dog park, and to the supermarket, and the laundry washed - but I left the list of things undone and behind the 8 ball for tomorrow....

I also did not eat well today - I had a few cookies and never had lunch. BLT's were for dinner instead of lasagna and there were no veggies to go with that.

Tomorrow is another day - and I will move forward.....not look back - but boy - did one day really throw me.

Heather's right, shake it off just like the boys on the team are told to do after a missed opportunity! Life happens and days like that can be SO frustrating. Sounds as bad as a day that pirates have no wind in their sails!! emoticon

It will pass and you will soon have a day that is greater than you would ever imagine - a day when everything fits together!
For about 40 years I have had this plaque on my kitchen wall:

"There are moments when everything turns out right.
Don't let it alarm you; they pass."
It kept me smiling during the girl scout, boy scout, little league, basketball, softball, and school activity years emoticon

Hope you get to make your lasagna today although I wouldn't frown at a BLT for dinner!

I hope your day today is easier than you imagine :)

Running the snack bar is a job! I felt bad for the lady who volunteered to make sure our 5th grade team had 2 people scheduled for each game. Most parents didn't want to take a turn. She & I had to fill in the empty spots. If there was no snack bar those same parents who don't help would be mad. Some people can be so selfish.
I hope your league's parents let you know how much they appreciate all you do.
