I am not out of shape

I love how my first assumption is always: Wow, I'm outta shape.
A couple of weeks ago, I was getting frustrated with biking home from work, because -- instead of getting easier -- it was getting harder. Then I realized that, on my 3-speed cruiser, only 2 speeds were working, and one of those two was not the "easy" gear. No wonder it was getting harder to take that bloody hill! So Ashke decided that he'd heard enough of my whining, so we got me a new bike. A beautiful 21 speed cruiser that's pretty, comfortable, and that works!
Then, yesterday, I was so upset with myself. I mean, sure, I'd gotten my skirt caught in the breaks on the way to work -- which was silly -- but not problematic... or so I thought. Apparently, when I disengaged my skirt, I also disengaged the spring that keeps my breaks from constantly engaging. So, my bike ride home last night was... hard. I got home so upset because my legs were dying and I was wiped and I thought WTF?! Turns out I drove home and to work this morning with the rear break engaged on one side. No wonder it was so much work!
Upside: this is my shiny, new bike :)
Now I just have to bike home, bike back, bike home, teach belly dance, and climb tonight. Hmmmm... Tuesday's aren't an easy day for me :P
