I Can Do Squats Now!

On April 1, I blogged that it was nearly impossible to rise to a standing position from a squat. Three months later, after implementing many small, inspired-by-SparkPeople-steps, I'm delighted to find that I can rise from a squat, not once, but several times, as I exercise. emoticon
I've gained overall strength and lost enough weight to reach the goal I set in March -- to move my weight from a borderline obese BMI of 30, to one in the mid-point of the overweight range, 27.5.

Today, I will revel in reaching this goal. And knowing that one's weight fluctuates from day to day, it could be a couple weeks before this goal weight actually settles in. Later, I'll decide whether to stick here, or move my weight to an even healthier one.

Meanwhile, I want to at least improve my efforts in the cardio activity realm, which I have not yet done very well at all. So that will be my next two months' goal: improving my ability to physically tolerate 10 to 15 minutes cardio walking to 25 to 30 minutes on a more regular basis. (In my 62-year-old, fibro-ridden body, that is a huge challenge.)
