Do you ever feel....

Saturday, July 05, 2014

....when you are in the beginning stages of an exercise program (1-2 months in), you start to get a bored or "I'm sick of exercise feeling"? Funny thing is, I only exercise every other day. Its like, the honeymoon is over...the initial excitement about "I'm gonna do this" is fading. Not gone...just slightly fading...lol. I have been exercising diligently...every other day...doing my Program of climbing and brisk walking. I've cut out the run/walk C25K for know because I was just sore...a lot. Knees and feet were hurting. I don't feel guilty about "cutting back" (as I've always thought running vs walking was the better exercise). But I'm finding that I lose just as many calories, if not a bit more, when I am walking. I exercise for 40 minutes versus 30 (when I ran) and I just think it makes me feel better. I want to get back to some kind of running when I get some more weight off, but for now I'm good.

So going back to the boredom thing. My mental thought process dreads exercising. But its true that once you get going, you feel so much better at the end. I feel accomplished, as well as covered in sweat. Dripping with sweat. Feels good. It really does. But I still have that lingering feeling when it IS time to exercise. Luckily in the back of my mind I have this thing called a conscience (yea?!) that reminds me everrr so subtly that I made a promise to myself this year to actually MAKE it and DO it this year. I plan to.

Hubby and I went to the movies to see Transformers. We had a good time. And you know what? No popcorn, candy, or soda this time AT ALL. Of course it was only he and I, but still...no popcorn, which I love diving into at the movies.

Came home and ate my leftover Chipotle (salad...chicken...yum).

I need to do pictures again to update my site...perhaps tomorrow. I think my boobs are getting a little smaller and some of my back fat looks to have shrunk...we'll see...lol.

Happy 4th weekend to all!!

I have the exercise motivation problem myself. I just ordered a yoga and a tai chi DVD to give me some variations. I am also doing light strength training and gentle stretching. If you are getting bored maybe switch things up a bit.

I still need to do my before picture. I am going to have my hubby do them tonight. (This is my first week on SP) I plan to do a new pic every month so I can see my progress. Congrats on your weight loss so far! You can do it! emoticon
