Adventures at Summer Camp!

Sunday, July 13, 2014

Well, I completed the first week of the Fit for Fall Summer Camp, and am pleased that it went so well. Meeting new people is always hard for me, but I put myself out there and started making connections. The camp couldn't have come at a better time. In the past few weeks, I could feel my energy for the fitness journey waning, but being involved with the FFF Camp has re-energized me.

My goal for the rest of the camp is a simple one: To stay the course. I've learned that I can make positive changes and be successful. But I've always been a better starter of things than a finisher. I read a quote here at one point: If you hate starting over, stop giving up. So my personal challenge is to hang with it. Keep up the healthy meal prep, smart choices, daily exercise, and staying connected with SparkPeople. It isn't a big, sexy goal, but it is the right one for me. I still have a ways to go on my fitness journey, but the only way to get there is by taking one step at a time.

Good for you! I figure on this healthy lifestyle journey we all hit bumps in the road (heck, I've wandered off the road ENTIRELY before!). The IMPORTANT thing is that we pick ourselves back up and continue to head in the right direction. It sounds like that is EXACTLY what you're doing with the camp and finding new ways to stay committed. You're so right - EVERY small step in the right direction brings you closer to your goals!
