I told you I met my Friend, Miss M, she is a nutritionist, and has achieved nothing short of miracles with herself, her husband, with nutrition and exercise!
She told me she can help me.....that we have been programmed to buy into our American diet, and that she can help me to learn better! She is sooooo passionate about this, and with good reason; they are both living, walking examples!
First, she asked me , what is it that I like to eat, and what are my problem foods. I replied Doritos (I can eat a whole, big bag), I don't buy them, but on the occasion that I do, it's bad. I told her I find myself wanting ice cream or a milkshake everyday, especially in this summer heat. And that I have found myself wanting pop more and more. So in a nutshell, salty crunchy foods, and sweets.
When she came over, she brought me a bag of veggies to make my own salsa, some "chips" she made (out of flax seed), a turtle candy, that she had made, a container of ice cream, and a "pop" that she had made. And she told me to eat these while I watched the dvd "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead".
I didn't get the dvd until a couple of days later, but I sampled the goodies, and made the salsa right away. The salsa was delicious......why haven't I made my own before, and it was very easy to make. I loved the chips! They could be chips, they could be pizza crust, but they are nice and crunchy and chewy, and were simply delicious. Did I mention she made them from Flax seed. And she said she will teach me how to make them. They are a "living food", and the benefits of flax seed are amazing. The "pop" was Organic Raw Kombucha, which she also made herself, and is a living enzyme, probiotic, detox drink....this was the only one that wasn't just delicious, but it was OK. The turtle was delicious, and so was the ice cream.
Then I sat down and watched the dvd, yesterday afternoon. OMG what an amazing story and journey! This of course, is a very extreme, juicing fast. Basically, it is a reboot to your system to rid the body of the very toxic American Diet. I have yet to try the juice, but that is coming, and I'm anxious to give it a go. I am not as "extreme" as the subjects of this film, but I am anxious to learn the principles.
She also told me, that she can go into ANY American restaurant, and order, and be able to eat.... My husband and I are getting ready to embark on a 4 week trip from Florida to Oregon, and that was really bothering me....I'm already up about 10 pounds, and now we're going to be gone, stopping a restaurants, plus probably not as much of my exercise routine, that I've been working hard to reestablish as a habit...
So is the timing good or what????
So, here I go. I will keep you posted on what I learn, and how I perform.
