no lbs lost but inches

Been keeping up with my swimming and can tell my body is firming up; much less jiggle. lol
Haven't lost anymore weight but I lost a half inch on my waist , which makes me very happy.
I didn't do any other beginning measurements but I'm sure my thighs and arms are firming up as well.
Found I reallllly have to cut back on calories before the scale will move. But when I swim for 40 min., then work in the garden for about an hour - I get too hungry to not eat more.
I know you're not supposed to cut back too much on what you eat or your body goes into "starvation mode" but if I don't I only maintain my weight and not lose.
But if I'm honest I reallly crave carbs if I cut back on them. Like and intense gnawing that drives in crazy - especially in the evening. Try not scratching poison ivy-- it's like that!
I still have to do some figurin' to see what works for me ; what is enough to keep me fueled to maintain activity, and what is too much.
For now.... I'm feeling good about my body toning , energy level and positive outlook (most of the time).
