Looking ahead to August

Since tomorrow is August 1 (also my son's birthday!), I am putting my August goals out there so I can be accountable and hopefully the scale will move down even more than what it has been.
1. I want to lose at least 4 lbs by August 30.
2. I will work out for at least 30 min. 3-4x/week.
3. I still hope to inspire my hubby to work out on a more regular basis.
4. I will log all food eaten, even the not so good stuff.
5. I will find healthier snacks!
6. I will start focusing on getting ready to go back to school (first day 8/26).
July was a great month for me. I've been able to spend a lot of time with the kids since my son is recovering from surgery. I've become a pro at building Legos!! He's doing better now and his other cast will come off on the 11th. When my teenage daughter comes out of her room, I'm able to spend time with her too, LOL!!
Being home allowed me the time to devote to actually getting up and be motivated to lose some weight and change my lifestyle. I still wish that the scale would've moved a little more, but that will come with time. I logged in over 750 fitness minutes. I'm very happy about this. I like how this feels. I found that I like to run. Like I said in a previous blog, I'm not great at it, but I'm doing it and that's more important.
Funny story, my best friend, who's a runner, wanted me to join her in a 100 mile, 30 day challenge. It's like 4-5 miles per day. I told her I've only been actually running for like 2-3 weeks and I just got up to 18 minutes yesterday. Needless to say, she understood why I declined :)
I think that by having my goals spelled out will help in my journey. Having my short term goals will get me to the bigger one.
