It's been a while...it's marathon time.

Wednesday, August 06, 2014

This week I started my final goal of my weight-loss journey. "Someday I'll run a marathon." I've been saying this to myself for over 20 years. Yes, since high school, when my love for running started. Then college came, job, marriage, kids, and the weight. Oh the weight came, and came and kept coming! Then it went away, I got it under control and have had it under control for over 5 years. YAY ME!

My "someday" is Dec. 7, 2014. I signed up to run the Rock-n-Roll Marathon in San Antonio, TX. I began training Monday August 4th. So far, so good! emoticon

I'm scared, nervous, excited, and pumped! Can I do this? I've run 2 half marathons, both were very difficult. Yes, I can do this. I think I can do this...okay, I'm doing this. LOL (It's a vicious cycle in my head emoticon )

I'll be blogging and tweeting (@sonyarodri29) about my 1st (maybe my last) experience with marathon training, the ups and downs. This should be fun. It's going to be fun, yeah....it will be okay. (See what I mean? emoticon )

Day 3 done - 3 miles complete! emoticon

emoticon HERE I COME!

Best of luck on your training and for the run itself. That is an outstanding goal. I can do a 5K but I have decided I can't run beyond that without risk of injury so I am happy with that distance. I am in awe of those that do 1/2's and full marathons so way to go! Keep up the great work. I am going to add you as a friend, hope you don't mind, I would love to watch you and cheer you on in your journey!
