And today I became a Runner.

One half mile - just me, my little pedometer, my running capris, my running sneakers, my sunscreen, and the road.
Quite a feat for me.
It's probably been over 25 years since I've gone for a real run. That was in high school. I ran for a mile, sometimes two, after school a few days a week, before I had to catch the next bus home. Once a male friend of mine, a runner on the track team, said I had "good form". But he flirted with all the girls, so I just said, "thank you" and brushed it off. Or maybe I didn't, because I sure remember it like it was yesterday. I think he is a track coach, now, in addition to his full time career. Thanks, Steve, for the compliment.
Since high school, I've been walking and even, sometimes, slow jogging, on the treadmill for years.
But nothing is like being out on the road.
So I "trained" for it.
Over the last few months I've been gradually moving the treadmill up to an incline of 7.
I've gone out on the road for walks and have increased my distance.
I started wearing a pedometer.
So, today, I loaded up on the sunscreen, and hit the road.
And it felt really, really, good.
