It's been a busy week and I'm facing another busy one this week as I go back to school.

I'm excited, nervous and a little sad to be going back to school. But I remind myself that this is my last year and I only have four more classes to go! I'll be starting the year with my psych rotation, which I guarantee will be interesting. I've had some psych patients at work so I know a little bit of what to expect.

My grandma is back in the hospital today. This is the second time in three months that she's been in there. She was there at the end of June for pneumonia and now the doctor just felt she looked "off." I saw her the other day and she was saying how tired she felt so I'm glad they sent her to the hospital. Her labs have come back good, but they are pumping her full of fluids. The good thing is that she is at the hospital where I work, so I will see her today when I go to work.

Here are some goals for the week:

1. Run at least 6 miles (I already know I don't have time for 8 this week!)

2. Eat within my calorie range each day

3. Do my math packet before Wednesday (I have a test on the first day)

It's a short list this week because I know how much stuff I actually have to do.

What are some of your goals for the week? Do you find that creating lists help you?

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day! emoticon

We have our first day of classes up on campus this week, too. It's a sad and exciting and scary time.
How fortunate for your grandma that she will be in the hospital where you are. I'm glad that her doctor is being cautious with her. Things can go down hill quickly with older people if you're not careful.
I don't usually have weekly goals, but maybe I should. I live and work in a college town and many of my regular customers are professors/staff/students. Most every day someone talks to me using my given name, and I don't know theirs. Sometimes I catch it right away and ask who they are, sometimes I don't. Sometimes I ask and they tell me and by the next day I've forgotten. One of my goals this week will be to ask at least one person who they are. I'm going to try to ask one of my old time regular customers their name. It gets to the point when people have been coming and interacting with me for months (or years even) that it just feels too late now to ask. I'll just going to smile and confess.

Well its never good to have a family member in the hospital but the doctor is being cautious, thats good news and the fact that you get to visit her while your at work is a bonus.

As a criminal psych major who already has done an internship, I can tell you that your going to walk away from this rotation with at least 1-2 really good unforgetable stories.

Goals this week: yea, creating a list helps.

    1. Do my hour of treadmill exercise at 2.2 mph with an arm pump (no hanging on)
    2. Push the fluids. I just ca't get 8 glasses in.
    3. Take my calcium pill and go outside for vitaminD everyday.

Sorry about your grandma, but good that the doctor was paying attention and they're trying to do something about it. So many times this isn't the case. Hopefully they will find out what's causing her to be so tired soon.

Wow a test on the first day, that's crazy! Good luck!
