A Major Milestone!

I am really sleepy, but I am too excited to rest. I got up this morning and made myself a healthy breakfast, and drank a TON of water. I weighed at my usual time thinking the water consumption would add a bit. I was pleasantly surprised!

I stepped on the scale and I actually had to do a double take....199 pounds! I can't even tell you the last time I weighed under 200. I have had a huge perma-grin all day! I don't even think I possess the words to describe what this means too me. My weight loss may be slower than it is for some others, but I am so proud of myself. I changed my eating habits completely. Even when I had a cheat day I stayed within my Calorie range. I don't cheat often. I am on an anti inflammatory diet so my cheat is a slice of veggie pizza or a lean cuisine dinner that has a bit of pasta in it.

Most of my weight loss is contributed to diet. Although I have limited mobility and suffer from chronic pain and fatigue I still manage a good hard workout about three times a week. The other days I get active by cleaning or straightening the house, grocery shopping etc. Over the course of the last two months I have learned how to capitize on my more inactive days (something I learned from a Spark article) When I am cleaning or straightening up I work inefficently. I carry one thing at a time, and make multiple trips. This was tough in the beginning-by nature I am a multi-tasker. On grocery day I work more efficiently. I make a list and arrange it in order of isles and sections. I grab my buggy and go quickly as possible to get everything I need. Pushing the cart as it gradually gets heavier and moving as briskly as I can move gives me quite a nice little workout!

I am far from being perfect at this new lifestyle change, but I am succeeding. Even small progress is progress. I have tried to take the advice and tools given to me by SparkPeople and use what I have learned to help me make positive changes. I know sometimes I am going to mess up, but I won't give up.

I know quite a few of us are here because we have limitations or disabilities that prevent us from doing things the way everyone else does them. That doesn't matter, as long as you are doing SOMETHING you will benefit even if it takes you two or three times longer to see it. Don't give up, Don't berate yourself, Believe in yourself and you will accomplish your goals. Take pleasure in celebrating the small achievements and milestones because they will lead you to your ultimate goal!
