August 2014 Challenge

I challenged my team the Peppy Party to try something new this month. I started to read the Doctors' Diet written by Travis Stork and just yesterday I did my first day on it! Well, it is after all still August, if just barely. Hey, I am slow but worth waiting for.
I always say a change is as good as a rest and this new endeavor proves that! One new thing always seems to lead me to other new things:
Breakfast: I ate breakfast for the first time in years - a smoothie!
Smoothie: This breakfast consisted of having my first smoothie ever - greek yogurt, frozen
berries and spinach.
Veggies: I thought I ate quite a few until I tried this regime!
As you can see, one change led to some others and time will tell if these changes last. I probably won't do the Doctors' Diet to the letter but find a workable plan based on it. You could probably do it to the letter if you cooked all your meals at home and never went to restaurants. I do think if you incorporate most of it, you are bound to lose some weight and at worst have very good nutrition.
It still being August, for my birthday I am trying 4 sessions with a brand new personal training that is 5 years younger than my twins! Egad he is young, but a wizard with a foam roller. I am going to learn some foam roller methods to help my arthritic hip. Change abounds!
