Tried some new SparkRecipes

This morning I made Runner's Oatmeal Blueberry Pancakes recipes.sparkpeople.com/

I didn't have fresh blueberries so used thawed frozen ones. I think it made the batter very runny so I had to add some regular flour to thicken it up a bit. (i noticed now I forgot the part of the recipe that says to let the batter sit for 10 min to let it thicken. Oops!)

I also added a few walnuts. Mine did not look ANYTHING like the photo. I wasn't sure how well they were going to cook up but they did actually cook rather like regular pancakes only much moister. I tried them with syrup and peanut butter and for my tastes they were much better with a very thin layer of peanut butter. They turned out to be quite good and I plan on making them again.

For lunch I made Samantha's Creamy Cauliflower Soup recipes.sparkpeople.com/

I thought this was really very good. I didn't have chicken stock so just used Better Than Bullion - Chicken and water. Delicious! I find hot food much more satisfying when I am really hungry and this hit the spot.

    Hi,

    Do you like cooking or is this something new for you? I didn't do much cooking, but made an agreement with my husband that if the ingredients were here that I would cook.

    Some of the recipes we have tried that we we really liked are

    * Baja Fish Tacos
    * Lime Shrimp
    * Shrimp Scampi
    * Bruschetta Chicken Bake
    * Orange Chicken
    * Bourbon Chicken

    I have yet to try any of the Spark Recipe's. I plan on it when we can get the ingredients. I've been saving so many recipes! I may have to try the pancake one, it sounds good.

    I love the protein pancakes (egg white, oatmeal, and cottage cheese). I am also a huge fan of crock-pot recipes. Easy, quick, and usually really good (I always substitute the 'canned soup' ingredient with either diced tomatoes or stock).
