So today was the first week weigh in for the Biggest Loser Fall Fitness Frenzy Challenge.

And how did I do? How much did I lose? Zip - Zero - Nada. In fact I actually gained 2 pounds.
So how did this happen?
Let's see:
I caught my husband's bug last week and was sick for about three days
For those three days, I was pretty much a slug (I did get a lot of sleep though) Sure, I know that it's ok not to exercise sometimes when you're sick. It's important to listen to your body. But quite honestly, I could have moved more than I did.
And I ate comfort food. And sick or no, my food choices were exactly that - choices. I didn't have to go over my calorie range, but I did.
Then last night, I met some friends at a local Mexican restaurant. I made decent choices, but I could have made better choices to have a better weigh in.
It is what it is. Nothing or no one is to blame but me. I am responsible for my own actions and my own choices. I'm not saying that as a condemnation of me. It's just reality.
My team has been wonderful - so encouraging and supportive. I love the Purple Passionettes! And I plan to do them proud this week. And to do myself proud.
Yep, that pretty much sums up how I feel right now.
On another note, I've been walking on the treadmill at Planet Fitness for my cardio.

I walk between 30 and 45 minutes and I'm becoming bored just walking in place, listening to music. They have TV's there that you can watch, but I don't really like to do that when I'm working out....I need music with a strong beat. (Plus I'm not coordinated enough to look up that high on the treadmill.....I become a little trippy). And I don't want to read a book, because I think I would walk slower if I did.
But I think I came up with a great solution!
I've been collecting a lot of the motivational sayings, like the one above, from SparkPeople and Sparkblogs. And last night I made them into a movie and I interspersed some beautiful pictures into it as well. I watched it today while on the treadmill, with my music pumping in my ears and it worked out perfectly!!! The time passed by much quicker. I'm going to add to it and tweak it a bit, but for me, it's a great solution for giving my eyes something to do while I'm working out. I can still concentrate on my form and my speed, but I'm planting positive ideas in my brain.
So that's my day in a nutshell...
...disappointing but not surprising weigh in
...determined to do better starting today
...happy treadmill walker
So if you had some type of disappointment or setback today. Just remember...DON'T GIVE UP. You have what it takes to be successful.
