It's a Beautiful Day In the Neighborhood
Thursday, September 18, 2014
My gym bag was all packed and in my trunk so that I could go workout right after work. But I just couldn't bring myself to do it. The weather outside is perfect. It's sunny and 73F. We aren't going to have very many more days like this this year. I don't want to be inside working out - I want to be outside working out. And that's exactly what I'm going to do. I just got home. I've changed my clothes and as soon as I'm done writing this I'm headed outside for a long walk around the neighborhood.
Yesterday, I mentioned that I do the treadmill at the gym and am getting bored with nothing for my eyes to focus on except the time. I should revise that a bit. It's not just the treadmill. It's also when I ride the stationary bike, or do the ARC trainer or the elliptical -- pretty much any of the cardio machines at the gym. I need something to look at to pass the time - and what better than positive motivational quotes and beautiful pictures. I'm going to use the movie I made for those too.
But I won't be needing the movie today. On a day like today, I want to look at the scenery passing by me outside.
And then when I get back from my walk, I plan to get all the totes filled with my clothes of various sizes out of the shed and the attic (which will also be more activity - a win-win). It's time to do some shopping. Some of my shirts and pants are becoming loose enough that I feel a bit sloppy in them.
I feel better in clothes that fit right. And I don't plan on gaining back the weight to make those clothes fit right again. So I'm going to see what else I have. And if I don't have any, then it's time to go shopping.
But as I'm going through the totes (and yes there are quite a few of them), I'm really going to take a hard look at what I've been keeping. Does it really make sense to hold on to them? The reality is I'll probably buy some new clothes as I go down as well. If it's not something I absolutely LOVE, then it needs to go to someone that needs it more than I do. So this little venture is also going to be a decluttering time. Wow, shopping, activity, decluttering, and helping a charity all rolled into one! That's my kind of activity!
Well, I'd better get going for now. It's time to start walking!
Hope everyone is having a bright and sunny day today (no matter what the weather's like where you live)!
